Imprisoned, and long claiming innocence, NC man alleges mistreatment at NC prison

In December 1993, Brandon and Leroy were new friends in Washington County, NC. Brandon had recently arrived in town and the two spent time together, along with Dana “Nikki” Maybin, Brandon’s girlfriend for a short time.  On December 18, the three were dancing and drinking with friends all night at Big Ed’s Bar. Across town, Frank Swain was murdered.

One year later Brandon and Leroy were both arrested for the murder.

Daniel Green, incarcerated for almost three decades, is appealing the denial of his evidentiary hearing

Daniel Green has been incarcerated for 25 years for a robbery and murder he did not commit.

On March 21, 1996, Daniel Green was convicted of first degree felony murder in the 1993 armed robbery and death of James Jordan.  He was sentenced to life in prison plus ten years.  Daniel has always maintained that he was not involved in the robbery or death of James Jordan, who is the father of NBA legend, Michael Jordan.
